Top Three moisturizers for the summer tatcha, drunk elephant and Sunday Riley

For this blog post I’m going to be sharing my top three moisturizers for the summer. As someone with oily/combination skin. I was told that I don’t need moisturizer but after reading so many articles and hearing what dermatologist have to say, the verdict is that combination skin does need to moisture but not all moisturizers are created equal. For Someone that has combination skin my skin goes through phases in the seasons. During the colder seasons my skin is normal it’s not dry nor oily as we get to the warmer days my skin gets oily in the t-zone area but my cheeks are normal. So, I still feel I need some moisture in my skin. I have a couple of tried and true moisturizers I love and work well for oily/combination skin.

Sunday Riley Tidal

I decided to purchase a travel size of this when I noticed I went through all the samples I had in my stash. It’s Light on the skin all skin types can use unless you have very dry skin. I’m combination skin and find it light and non-greasy on my skin.

Why I like this moisturizer:

It Helps with brightening dark spots with 1% Alpha-Arbuthnot. Improves skin moisturization with Tamarind extract. Has papaya enzyme to gently exfoliate the skin and has Hyaluronic acid. I really notice three things when I use this cream. I immediately feel my skin is supple hydrated and with consistent use I notice it helps with evening out my skin (as I do get the occasional hormonal breakouts).

Drunk Elephant Protini

This is a moisturizer packed with such amazing peptides. Peptides are great ingredients in skincare because they help build collagen and elastin in the skin. Overtime, resulting in a youthful looking skin. In this moisturizer you’ll find nine different types of peptides. I don’t want to get into ingredients too much as this blog post will be an essay instead and I’m definitely not an expert on ingredients (but with research and trying products over the years you learn what’s good and what’s not). I’m just going to write about why I like this moisturizer. First, it has a great texture to it. It sits in between (not to light or heavy). I would use this in the winter as well because it’ll give me enough moisture to my skin. While using it my skin felt great. I never broke out from this and the texture of my skin was always looking amazing. I would say besides moisturizing my skin this is a great anti-aging product. It is pricy but if I’m going to pay high price for a product it better deliver and this does.

Tacha Water Cream

This is a new addition in my skincare. I recently picked this as up from the Sephora bazaar reward (if you shop at Sephora a lot like me then you have accumulated points and can use them to pick up products from the bazaar shop that can range from 100 to 3000 points). Tatcha is a brand I’ve always wanted to try more from. The only product of tried is The Pearl Eye Treatment which I absolutely love. So, I was curious to try this moisturizer (which also came with a cleanser) and I honestly wasn’t disappointed. It’s the lightest texture of them all and it literally feels like water when you rub it into your skin. I would say this is definitely something I would use daily in the summer time because I hardly feel it’s on my skin and layers nicely with my sunscreens.
