Welcome back,

If you follow me on Instagram (if you don’t than please do) I posted a picture of some of the items I purchased from the Alex Steinherr line.

Just a little back story of Alex if you don’t know her.

Alex steinherr is an award winning London-based beauty director for Glamour and cosmopolitan. She now is a consultant for top brands like La Mer and Estée Lauder. Adding more to her impressive resume now a brand creator. She has come out with twenty products exclusive and permanent to Primark stores (If you live in the New York area it’s available in Brooklyn, Staten Island and NJ) These products are split into five skincare needs.

  • Plump & Glow
  • Maximum Moisture
  • Pollution Solution
    Pore Balance
  • Sleep Spa

The line is Vegan Friendly +Fragrance Free + not tested on animals.

When I heard about this line I knew I had to try it out. Considering I follow Alex on Instagram where she regularly posts are am/pm routine and her vast knowledge of ingredients +product brands. I was excited to see what a skincare guru has created.

What I purchased:

Pore Balance: Cleanser

Pore Balance: Detox Clay Mask

Pore Balance: Blackhead stick

Maximum Moisture: Supreme Sheet Mask

Plump-Glow: The Power Mask

Sleep Spa: Sleeping Face Mask

Sleep Spa: Overnight Lip Mask

I have combination skin and in the colder seasons my skin tends to produce less sebum (oil) so, it’s on the normal/ dry but still get blackheads +blemishes from time to time. So, initially I geared towards the the Pore Balance range. Also, got some from the moisture range. I have been using these products for over a month.

Cleanser:

This low-pH sulphate free cleanser is exactly as described a non-stripping, shine control leaves skin feeling comfortable and clean. This is an oil skins dream cleanser come true. I remember when I had acne and was using cleansers that striped my face from all the oils and my face felt dry and tight and it made my acne even worse. Our face needs to produce sebum but some produce more than needed which can cause blemishes. A good cleanser does not strip the face from all the oils but cleanses the face enough to make it feel balanced. This does the job and it has salicylic acid which helps to clean the pores from blackheads. My face did not feel tight or uncomfortable but because the weather is getting colder I tend to lean towards more creamy/gel like cleansers. This cleanser I feel will suit me more in the summer but of you’re an oily gal all year round than this is great.

Detox Clay Mask:

This mask has a light mousse like texture that spreads easily and drys out to a comfortable feel ( not like those Clay a masks that make your face feel like it is about to explode or crack). It’s nice I’ve used it twice and had no reaction to it.

Anti-blackhead stick:

This is an innovative blackhead exfoliator. It comes in a stick form, where you rub it on your wet face. I like to use this targeting certain areas of my face like chin, nose and forehead where I mostly get blackheads. It’s non-abrasive on the face but my skin feels smoother afterwards.

Supreme Sheet Mask:

I just want to start off by saying that I love the texture of this sheet mask, it’s not like anything I’ve tried. I don’t really do much sheet masking because I don’t like the rough paper feel that some sheet masks have. Sheet masks have evolved over the years you have silicon/rubber like sheets masks. This one is unique, the only way I can describe it, it has a soft and mooshy feel. It’s molds and sticks on your face, I like the feel of it on my face. It gave me moisture and my skin felt soft afterwards.

The Power Mask:

This two step mask comes in a small clear gel that you spread on your face first then followed by the sheet mask on top. It gives a boost of hydration and leaves the skin supple and hydrated. The texture of this sheet mask is different than the supreme sheet mask as it is more paper feel but it is easy to spread on the face.

Sleeping Face Mask:

Omg! I love this overnight face mask from texture, to how it feels and the moisturize it gives my face. It doesn’t have that heavy creamy feel that just sits on my skin rather, it feels light and sinks into skin. Because I have combination skin heavy creams overnight masks tend to clog my pores which causes blackheads and blemishes. This is does not do this and I wake up with moisturized soft and glowing skin. I use this nightly as a last step of my skincare routine. Highly recommend this for all skin types.

Overnight Lip Mask:

Another favorite from this line. I use this am/pm to be honest it has a non-greasy/glossy/sticky texture. It moisturizes and gives a nice sheen to your lips. If you use this daily it will keep your lips moisturized But, I wouldn’t say this is for extreme dry lips.

Final Thoughts

I don’t have anything negative to say about this line. The price point is unbeatable, the ingredients list is simple, clean yet effective. Packaging is simple but elegant at the same time. I would recommend this to teenagers and adults or anyone on a budget.

Disclaimer: I bought these products myself and this is 100% my thoughts and experience from trying these products. I am not an expert on skincare. Just a skincare enthusiast that likes to test out skincare products.
