Sephora Sale! My favorites and recommendation.

Who does not like a good sale especially if you are a beauty addict like me. Sephora has launched its biggest sale of the year. The sale has started for Rouge status level on August 24th and for VIB/Beauty Insiders it starts on August 30th ends (for all) on September 3rd.The discounts vary from status levels: Rouge get 20% off (code: YESROUGE) VIB get 15% off ( CODE: YESVIB) and Beauty Insiders get 10% off (code: YESINSIDER). You can only use this code online once and in store multiple times.

This is the time were you stalk up on your favorites or try new things that you’re not willing to pay full price for.  Sephora is my favorite place to shop for many reasons one is it has the best return policy ever, you don’t like something return it no questions asked. Since shopping at Sephora for six years I’ve only returned one item because I genuinely did not like it. Sephora has made some nice changes to its beauty insider program  (details to the insider program will be displayed at the end of the blog).

Ok let’s talk skincare/beauty products. Just to clarify I am not a skincare specialist nor have I been sent or payed to talk about these products. I bought everything with my own money. This is a review of products i’ves used up, loved and repurchased. I am a consumer, a customer and I really rely on “real” honest reviews when it comes to purchasing skincare products. When I read reviews I am looking for certain lists that I have in mind and so if they tick the boxes it’s a win if not then I move on to search for other product.

For reference, I have combination skin but my skin changes during the seasons in the Summer it’s Oily (t-zone area) and normal to dry in the winter time. I have hormonal break outs (in my chin area). My skin is non-sensitive it loves acid products.

The products I will be mentioning are gentle yet effective on the skin and suitable for all (except for one, which I will explain). There’s a mix of lipgloss, blush and hair product. I don’t mention foundation because I don’t wear foundation only on special occasion ( I personally don’t like the feel of foundation on my skin, I feel my skin is suffocating) so I get samples from Sephora.

I would love to know what your favorites are and what you’ll be getting in the sale?

Moisturizer:

The Drunk Elephant protini moisturizer claims to firm, tone and help with dry skin. I haven’t seen firmness (have not been using it for a long time) it definitely helps with dryness and dulleness of the skin. It sinks in well into the skin. Has no greasy feel. It’s not too heavy or to light in texture. Can be used in the winter and summer.

From the name this Clinique 72-hour moisture surge says it all. Let’s be honest I haven’t used it for 72-hours straight. It’s so light in texture but effective. It feels so silky on the skin. Tip: I love to wear it under my foundation. Your makeup will wear beautifully.

The Clinique even better is my favorite moisturizer to use in the winter because it truly does what it claims to do. It brightens, exfoliates clarifying hydrator. When I use this I definitely see a difference in my skin tone. I will be repurchasing this.

This belif aqua bomb is such a light, cooling and great moisturizer for oily skin. They also carry a more heavier moisturizer called moisturizing bomb more suitable for dryer skin.

Toner:

Toners are essential part of my skincare routine. I usually love using hardcore acid toners like glycolic or lactic acid toners but because everyone’s skin is different I wanted to recommend a more gentler form of exfoliator (which has papaya extract) that is suitable for all skin types. This Beauty Water is a beautiful and refreshing toner and can be used around the eye area (which I do and never had a my irritation). Also, you get 11.49 oz/340ml which will last you a good while.

TREATMENTS

My holy grail of skin care thus far! I never thought I would say this because I never believed in such thing as holy grail products but, yes they do exist. The Sunday Riley good genes is a genius product because it tackles all the issues from dark spots, dullness and fine lines. This on its own does what it claims. I put this on at night and my face wakes up plump, glowing and moisturized. You do see results with spots and fine lines with continued use of this product. If you have problematic skin like hormonal and congested skin, this will help. This product has lactic acid (my favorite acid) it is on the strong side of formulation it can be a bit harsh on people with dry and sensitive skin. Good Genes can be worn day and night but I prefer using it at night. I would highly recommend you trying out a set first (which I will link to).

I was introduced to the Luna Oil when I bought a set which came with the good genes. It is meant to be used in conjunction with the good genes. They both can be worn alone and both deliver results. This is an oil which can only be used at night hence, the title sleeping night oil. Don’t be alarmed by the blue color it fades as you pat it in your skin (patting technique for facial oils is recommended by estheticians to insure the oil sinks in the skin to receive the benefits). Retinol is well known for anti-aging benefits and great for helping with blemishes.

MASK

There are many types of masks on the market. Fresh is a brand in my opinion is suitable for all skin types. It is gentle and non-abrasive on the skin. The black tea mask is my favorite mask from this line it feels cooling, softening and my skin looks brighter after I remove it. It has antioxidants which is key for ant-aging.

BB Cream

This erborian BB cream gives such a beautiful finish on the skin. It gives a baby skin like feel/look to to my complexion. I would consider this a medium coverage. Why I like this so much is, it evens out my skin (it doesn’t fully cover so I spot conceal where I need to). I’m in the Clair color it is a bit on the grayish tone but works for me because I’m light Neutral.

Lipgloss

I’ve repurchased this Dior lip glow in 001. for the second time. This says a lot because I have many lipglosses/lip balms. This is moisturizing, it’s not too glossy and gives a beautiful natural flesh pink color to your lips. This is my go to wherever I go. Love!

The Marc Jacobs lipgloss in French Tickler is a beautiful iridescent peach shimmer. I dislike tacky lipgloss and this is not one of those. It is comfortable and beautiful on the lips and gives a beautiful shine and moisturizer to the lips. It comes in 30 colors .

This Fenty Bomb gloss is another lipgloss favorite. It is not opaque in color, it is considered a universal color that is suitable for all skin complexion. It is glossy, not sticky and it is the bomb!

Blush

The Tarte blush in paaarty. I previously had this blush but it fell and broke into pieces. Recently, I received it in my Sephora play box. I was so excited I remember I used to use it everyday. It is such a beautiful neutral nude blush color. Most days I reach for this when I need an effortless natural look.

HAIR

I first heard about Olaplex hair treatment from a YouTuber she mentioned how her coworkers were raving about so, she bought but hadn’t tried it yet. This intrigued my interest because it was coming from normal people (the coworkers lol). My hair is fine and colored it’s been through a lot and I’ve tried everything (payed a lot of money too) that claimed to give volume strength and treat fine/damaged hair. I decided what the heck let me try one more and got it. This is a weekly treatment (mask) you put on damp hair before shampoo and leave on 10 or more after you wash off and move on to your normal hair routine. Let me tell you this is not a miracle hair treatment it did not transform my hair overnight but I did notice my hair shedding less and texture feels soft and less dry from so much coloring. My hair is still fine but looks healthy and soft. It is a product I will be repurchasing again. They also have a shampoo which I want to try.

This is the new changes to the Sephora beauty insider program.
