Hello everyone,
I posted on July the 20th about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and what I purchased and what I was hoping to come back in stock. Just to recap, Nordstrom is a high end retail store located in the United States and Canada. Every year they have a huge sale where new/seasonal stocked items go on sale from clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, home, makeup and skincare. Now, because I’m such a beauty/skincare addict I went straight to skincare and makeup section.
Well, finally some of my orders have arrived and I’m still waiting on the other orders to arrive. I’ve started using some of the things I received and I have some thoughts on them. The sale ends on Sunday August 5th. Some items are still in stock so hurry before the sale ends.
What I bought:
Charlotte Tilbury Glowing skin Palette. A $153 value on sale for $75
In Stock (click on the pic)
What you get:
I’ve been using this palette for a week to see how it wears. Sometimes palettes like this can be a hit or miss regrading the quality but, for this palette charolette tilbury did a great job. The airbrush powder is so finely milled it airbrushes the complexion beautifully. The blushes are a beauty they are flattering on everyone and are long lasting. The highlighters are very elegant and just right. They are not bang in you’re face type of highlighters but an elegant sheen which could be worn on the eye lid. Now, I’m not a bronzer/contour gal but this is so natural looking that I’m actually started to include this in my makeup routine in those days when I’m feeling extra.
This palette has mixed reviews, that I almost didn’t get it, why? Some, ppl complained it wasn’t pigmented enough. The reason is this palette is suited towards light/ medium skin tone. As I am light skin toned I didn’t have issues with the color and the Airbrush powder is a tad dark for me so I sweep on my face in light amount. I would have liked if Charolette made another palette suited for darker toned complexions. Overall, it’s a beautiful, effortless, travel friendly and suitable for daily use (which I am doing).
The Murad Day-to-Night pollution proof set. A $148 value on sale for $85
This set includes:
Murad is a popular brand that focuses on acne and Anti-aging. The main reason I bought this set is because it was such a great value you get two full size of its top selling products a very spacious makeup bag with two compartments and a delux size moisturizer sample. Also, I needed a new sunscreen. I always read reviews before I purchase anything and the reviews on these products are positive especially the Lightening serum. I have begun using this and will do a proper review on it. But, so far I have used this set everyday and no complaints here.
Sara happ The Lip Expert in coconut Set. A value of $46 on sale for $32
In Stock
Set includes:
I have had my eye on this brand for a while and when I saw this set I couldn’t resist. If you don’t know Sara happ well, she is a lady who created a line/brand based only on lip treatment. The line also includes a lip mask which is on m list. I like brands that focus on a specific thing this makes me confident that this brand has put effort and good quality ingredients in their product. Now, I have a review with a before and after pictures on my Instagram @simply_shereen so go check it out.
Fresh Binge-Masking Treatment Set. A value of $120 on sale for $79
The Set Includes:
I’m a huge fan of the Fresh brand I love the soy cleanser, the black tea mask and the rose mask. When I saw this offer again for a skincare junkie it was an offer I couldn’t refuse (lol). The one ounce mask retails for $35 dollars and I’m getting 3 masks and the sugar face polish which sells for $25 (1 oz.). So overall, It’s a good deal and I’ve been wanting to try the face polish and the overnight mask.
The Original Makeup Eraser 2-Pack. A value of $40 on sale for $25
In Stock
Set Includes:
Again couldn’t resist the value of this deal. What I like about this is it’s great for removing the first layer of makeup and accumulated dirt we get through out the day, in one swipe. This is a really a handy tool to have around it’s gentle on the face and convenient for travel. As you can see from the above pic I had some BB cream, concealer and blush on (I’m not a heave duty makeup wearer but it claims it removes waterproof eyeliner, mascara and HD makeup). Afterwards, I used a Cotten pad soaked in makeup remover and went with it all over my face and this was the result. This is just a first cleanse for me I then went on to my second cleanse. I’m sold on this and will be useful in my cleansing routine.
beautyblender/ blender. cleanse.Carry set. A Value of $60 on sale for $35
Set includes:
If you haven’t tried the beautyblender then you are missing out. It is an edge-less sponge that when soaked in water it expands you squeeze the excess water and you start using. This takes the makeup application to another level. It gives a smooth and flawless finish to you’re makeup. It removes any excess foundation and gives it a skin like effect. A beautyblender sells for $20 (yeah I know expensive for a piece of sponge) but when you try one you get what all the hype is about. This is why you should take advantage of sales like this one.
Disclaimer: All the products were purchased by me and all thoughts are mine. The first three pictures were taken by me and the makeup eraser pic is also mine.
Who does not like a good sale especially if you are a beauty addict like…
